Where else do you teach/gig/conduct/sing/perform?
I do a lot of solo concert work here in Southern California, and have been fortunate to perform a bit in Europe as well. I maintain a private voice studio, I'm on faculty at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, and I am a Lecturer in Applied Music at Pomona College.
Solo concert roles include the Verdi Requiem, Brahms Requiem, Mozart Requiem, Faure Requiem, Handel Messiah, numerous Bach works (various Cantatas, Mass in B-Minor, St. Matthew Passion, Christmas Cantata, Magnificat), Vivaldi Gloria, Beethoven (9th Symphony, Choral Fantasy, Mass in C-Major),Vaughan Williams Dona Nobis Pacem and Sea Symphony, various Haydn Masses (Paukenmesse, Theresienmesse), Schoenberg Pierrot Lunaire, Bruckner Te Deum Laudamus, and Orff Carmina Burana. Solo works with the Los Angeles Philharmonic include Stravinsky Requiem Canticles and Lindberg Graffiti.
I've sung in a background capacity on many films and TV shows, and I'm the featured soloist in Carlo Carlei's Romeo and Juliet, scored by Abel Korzeniowski.
Highlights of your musical career:
I work with many of my LA Master Chorale and Philharmonic colleagues for an organization called Street Symphony, who's mission is to create meaningful and authentic engagements between professional musicians and disenfranchised persons experiencing homelessness or incarceration. I have had the honor of being a Street Symphony Teaching Artist, and providing private vocal instruction and mentorship to selected community members.
A defining moment of favorite LA Master Chorale onstage experience:
I have loved being the soloist for the sing-a-long Messiahs here at WDCH the couple of times I've done it- the audience is aMAZing! By far the most fun I've had singing the Messiah!
Anything you'd like to add about yourself?
I'm part of the growing "I met my spouse in the LAMC" crowd...my husband is LAMC bass Scott Lehmkuhl. We live in Pasadena and love raising our pack of rescue animals and fostering puppies and dogs!
Where do you live in L.A.?
