Where else do you teach/gig/conduct/sing/perform?
I have just completed my eighteenth season with the Carmel Bach Festival, and am a member of the Street Symphony Chamber Singers. I am also a teaching artist with LAMC's educational outreach programs, Voices Within and the Oratorio Project, as well as the Choir Director at Pasadena's historic Church of the Angels.
Górecki: Miserere, Nico Muhly's A Good Understanding (Decca), Steve Reich's You Are (Variations) (Nonesuch); Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Ghostbusters, Fifty Shades of Gray, My All American, and several other films.
Highlights of your musical career:
Lincoln Center performance of Steve Reich's Tehillim with three other women of LAMC and playing Patsy Cline in Chicago's long-running production of Always...Patsy Cline.
Favorite choral work(s):
A defining moment of favorite LA Master Chorale onstage experience:
I will never forget the first time we sang in the brand new Walt Disney Concert Hall. Grant led us in a couple of a cappella pieces from the stage (in particular, I recall Randall Thomson's "Alleluia") and encouraged us to go sit and listen from different spots in the hall. Overwhelming.
What are you listening to these days?
The Wailin' Jennies, Prince, the Punch Brothers...
Where do you live in L.A.?
What L.A. experience do you consider essential for visitors/newcomers?
Take a hike in Griffith Park, catch a concert at the Greek or the Hollywood Bowl, grab a bite downtown at the Central Market.
