There are sacred spaces in each one of us which music alone can unlock—that feeling when your soul is lifted up by sublime voices ascending to the heavens. In this concert, the Grammy® Award-winning L.A. Master Chorale, led by Kiki and David Gindler Artistic Director Grant Gershon, explores that divine spark through music that spans five centuries and four continents. Anchored by a breathtakingly gorgeous Palestrina mass (composed in the 16th century for the Sistine Chapel), through works of Anton Bruckner, Alice Parker, Moses Hogan and Hyo-Won Woo, this concert will transport you to a place of true serenity and transcendence. As a special highlight you will experience one of the classics of our time, Morten Lauridsen’s O Magnum Mysterium, sung by the ensemble for which it was written, in an intimate acoustical environment. Join us to rediscover the sacred spaces in our city and inside of you.
