This season will see the return of some of choral music’s most cherished works, including Mozart’s Requiem and Handel’s Messiah and also eatures works that are new to our repertoire, from 19th century composer Fanny Mendelssohn (yes, Felix’s sister!) to world premieres from contemporary composers. We’re also proud to continue our 25 in 5 Commission Program, launched during the 2023/24 season, which invites 25 composers to create new works of varying scale and complexity for the Chorale and its education programs. This season, we are also prous to expand our programming to reach new audiences. The holidays will be even more joyous with our brand-new Carols for Kids! Designed with our youngest music fans in mind, this immersive, kid-friendly event features favorite childhood carols and free lobby activities, including photos with Santa. Plus! We will continue our commitment to sharing choral music with the region through our new Community Series programs. Check back later this fall for more information on dates and locations.

VOICES WITHIN

Through our Voices Within program, students find their creative voices and become more self-confident and hone their problem-solving and communication skills during an important time of self-discovery. At a culminating event, the students premiere the songs they have written, singing with eight singers from the Master Chorale to a school audience. All are welcome to attend these free events in December 2025.

ORATORIO PROJECT

The Oratorio Project was born out of our Voices Within program for 5th grade students. It immerses high school students into a collaborative process to write a large, complex work similar to an opera with arias, duets, and chorus. Students delve into historical and culturally rich subjects in order to find a meaningful story that they connect with, and then tell the storythrough music. The curriculum combines elements of music composition literacy skills and 21st Century learning, such as collaboration, digital literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
