Los Angeles Master Chorale | Walt Disney Concert Hall

FROM OUR PRESIDENT & CEO

NOVEMBER 2021

We have much to celebrate at the Los Angeles Master Chorale. After weathering the cancelation of our entire 2020-21 slate of concerts, we are overjoyed that we can present the first subscription concerts of our new season. On November 20 and 21 we perform Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil at our home, Walt Disney Concert Hall. I know you are looking forward to these concerts as much as I am.

When our singers take the stage later this month, we will also be marking the start of Grant Gershon’s 20th season as Kiki & David Gindler Artistic Director, an incredible milestone—and a true cause for celebration. Grant has transformed the Chorale into a dynamic artistic force that is now recognized around the globe for its innovative performances and musical precision. He has left an indelible mark on this organization, and continues to push us forward artistically, inspiring us all to become an ever more compelling organization, for our patrons and our community.

We will honor Grant this year at GALA 2022, held at Walt Disney Concert Hall on March 23. This event includes a performance by Anne Akiko Meyers, a new work by Michael Abels, and a tribute presentation by Esa-Pekka Salonen. Of course, our Los Angeles Master Chorale will be performing too. I hope you can join us.

Our return to live performances in this 20th season for Grant would not be possible without your support and patience as we continue to operate under COVID-19 prevention protocols. We thank you for ensuring you are vaccinated (which is currently mandatory at all Chorale concerts) and wearing masks in the concert hall.

Here’s to a great season of live performance!
