Michael Jones

Born into a musical family, Michael Jones, is an award-winning international soloist, chamber musician and clinician. Distinguished as “the superb Michael Jones” by Gramaphone (2023), he has appeared as a soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Tessarae, Cal Poly Bach Festival, Choral Arts Philadelphia, Academy of Sacred Drama, Haverford University Choir and Orchestra and Disney’s All-American College Band, to name a few. Michael is excited to make his debut as the tenor soloist for BWV 62 and BWV 147a with Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra in December of 2024.
In addition to an extensive solo career, Michael regularly performs with many of the nation's finest choral ensembles. Michael is looking forward to his first season on the roster with Los Angeles Master Chorale. Notably, Michael sings regularly with two @GRAMMY award winning groups, The Crossing and Conspirare, as well as Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Seraphic Fire, Bach Collegium San Diego, Grant Park Opera Chorus, True Concord Voices and Orchestra, Opera Philadelphia, Apollo's Fire, Variant 6, ekmeles, Vocal Arts Ensemble of Cincinnati and Alium Spiritum. Michael is a founding member of Constellation Men’s’ Ensemble, Chicago’s premiere TTBB ensemble.
Michael studied at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music for his bachelors in jazz trumpet and Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music for his masters in jazz trumpet and is still actively playing trumpet.
