Carmina Burana
Sep 23, 2017 - Sep 24, 2017
Video Gallery
It’s a celebratory start to the season with Leonard Bernstein’s hope-filled Chichester Psalms in honor of the composer’s centenary, paired with Carl Orff’s rollicking Carmina Burana. A musical depiction of Bernstein’s wish for brotherhood and peace blending biblical Hebrew verse and Christian choral tradition, Chichester Psalms features some of the most tender music Bernstein ever composed. The program exuberantly continues with Orff’s shamelessly popular and wildly rambunctious Carmina Burana depicting medieval revelry and celebrating all the pleasures to be found in life – and the concert hall!
Contributing Sponsors: Denise and Robert Hanisee.
Photo: Tracy Van Fleet (in mirror), Charles Lane, Kelci Hahn, Dylan Gentile, and David Castillo by Arnaud Pyvka.
