Jamie Felix-Toll to perform the boy soprano solo in Chichester Psalms
At 13-years-old, singer Jamie Felix-Toll already has an admirable track record singing on many of the most prestigious stages in the city.
In choral music, there are solo partss that thrill audiences and singers like no another. One of these is the revered solo for a boy singer in Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, a piece that will open the Los Angeles Master Chorale's 2017/18 season alongside Carmina Burana at Walt Disney Concert Hall on September 23 & 24. Thirteen-year-old Jamie Felix-Toll has been selected to perform this solo with the Master Chorale and conductor Grant Gershon.
Jamie, a student at the Waverly School in Pasadena, has been a member of the Los Angeles Children's Chorus for eight years and is a proud member of the Concert Choir Ensemble. In addition to Carmen, he has appeared in three other LA Opera mainstage productions: I Pagliacci, La bohéme, and Tosca. Jamie recently performed the role of Jaffett, Noah’s eldest son, in the LA Opera Community production of Noah’s Flood, conducted by James Conlon. He has also performed under the batons of Gustavo Dudamel and Michael Tilson-Thomas, including performances at the Hollywood Bowl.
The Los Angeles Master Chorale's performances of Chichester Psalms featuring Jamie are part of a worldwide, two-season celebration of Leonard Bernstein's centenary, #BernsteinAt100.
