IN THE NEWS: OCTOBER 2021
The New York Times and Los Angeles Times spotlight our upcoming season and "triumphant return" to Walt Disney Concert Hall. Read the latest in our October news roundup.
Our long-awaited return to Walt Disney Concert Hall on September 25 and 26, a truly a momentous and uplifting occasion, was included in Mark Swed’s Los Angeles Times fall preview, “12 Classical Music Makers to Watch this Fall in a Topsy-turvy SoCal Season”. Swed noted that “no ensembles have struggled more mightily during the pandemic than choruses, as singers are inevitable spewers of the damnable coronavirus. The Los Angeles Master Chorale plans to return full-throated throttle to Walt Disney Concert Hall with a fantastically mixed program of short pieces given first as a tribute to teachers and then as a free concert for subscribers.”
The Los Angeles Times followed up on this article by mentioning our “triumphant return” to the concert hall in a weekend roundup.
The New York Times fall preview highlighted the Chorale’s February 2022 concert of music by Frank Martin and Swan Family Artist-in-Residence Reena Esmail, noting it would be conducted Associate Artistic Director Jenny Wong.
