IN THE NEWS: APRIL 2021

Our President & CEO, Jean Davidson, has been in the news recently regarding the re-opening of our cultural institutions, providing valuable perspective on the constantly changing regulatory landscape.

The Los Angeles Master Chorale has been in the news over the last few weeks regarding the re-opening of our cultural institutions, with our CEO, Jean Davidson, providing valuable perspective on the constantly changing regulatory landscape.

In a March 24 Los Angeles Times article on the prospect of outdoor summer events returning, Davidson emphasized that organizations such as ours need “reopening guidelines for indoor performances so that we can create the financial models for next fiscal year, and the next several years based on approved guidelines instead of assumptions.”

The Los Angeles Times published another article on April 6 about how the recently announced June 15 re-opening of the economy might affect the performing arts. The Times quoted Davidson, who emphasized that “a safe and comfortable environment for all” was the Master Chorale’s paramount concern as it negotiates with the singers’ union and the Music Center on the coming season.
