Jenny Wong and Jean Davidson discuss the Master Chorale, the performing arts, and COVID-19; The Sacred Veil reviews continue; our new board members make the news.

How arts organizations can survive during the pandemic is a hot topic, now that we’re eight months on, and two of the Master Chorale’s leaders discussed the matter with the media recently. Associate Artistic Director Jenny Wong appeared on the Spectrum News program LA Times Today to discuss how the Master Chorale is adapting to life during COVID-19, and President & CEO Jean Davidson spoke with the Los Angeles Business Journal for their philanthropy issue, published the week of October 26.

The Master Chorale’s recording of Eric Whitacre’s The Sacred Veil continues to receive positive reviews. Stereophile gave the album a five-star review and noted, “From its first entrance, the Los Angeles Master Chorale surrounds you in room-filling sound in frontal stereo. There is no audible distortion at climaxes—no stridency—just appealing naturalness.”

The Park La Brea News / Beverly Press reported on our new board members, Jennifer Flinton Diener and Shawn Kravich. We reported on their joining the board in our previous newsletter
