Los Angeles Master Chorale | Walt Disney Concert Hall

FROM OUR PRESIDENT & CEO

NOVEMBER 2020

The holidays, which have always been our favorite time of the year at the Los Angeles Master Chorale, are coming. And while we can’t be in Walt Disney Concert Hall for our usual Festival of Carols and Messiah performances, we can still brighten your bleak mid-winter, thanks to the internet.

Earlier this week, we announced the premiere of Holiday Karaoke, a new digital program that we will be presenting as a streamed event on December 17. Holiday Karaoke mixes new videos of our singers with a healthy dose of recorded performances from holidays past. As a special treat, we are making a series of instructional videos available to you two weeks before December 17 so that you may brush up on some of the songs and sing along with us. It will be a lot of fun, and we hope you’ll join us. (The Holiday Karaoke video will remain up throughout the holidays, so you can bring it back for Christmas, or anytime.)

You’ve seen some very special virtual-choir and online performances from us over the past few months, and a little less than a week before Thanksgiving, we’ll present another that features TaReKiTa by Swan Family Artist-in-Residence Reena Esmail. For our donors at the $600 level or above, you will see it before anyone else at our Meet the Artist event on November 19.

Both of these upcoming online events promise to be a spectacular gift to you, our loyal supporters. They are also representative of our commitment to ensuring that our singers continue to be able to do what they do best, even when it is not yet possible for them to do so on the concert stage. You can help us meet that commitment with a donation to our Emergency Fund for Artistic Innovation

Your continuing support is welcome at this time and appreciated deeply by all of us at the Master Chorale, especially by our artists, the singers. We look forward to joining you this holiday season for our new, online, tradition of Holiday Karaoke. Mark your calendars!
