Bio:
New Orleans native David Castillo resides in Highland Park, where he roams Figueroa with his pup, Pippa ( @pippalouthemaltipoo ). In the past seven seasons with Los Angeles Master Chorale, David served as a soloist in Matthäus-Passion, Alexander’s Feast, Messiah Sing-Along, Christmas Day, and in the world premieres of Shawn Kirchner’s Songs of Ascent and Eric Whitacre’s The Gift of the Magi. As a soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, David performed Bernstein’s Mass with Gustavo Dudamel, John Cage’s Europeras 1 & 2 at Sony Picture Studios, and the world premieres of Louis Andriessen’s Theatre of the World and Annie Gosfield/Yuval Sharon’s War of the Worlds. A Company Member of The Industry, David played in Hopscotch, Bonnie and Clyde, Galileo, and Nimbus. 
 
Solo highlights include Lincoln Center for Bernstein’s Mass, The Cleveland Orchestra in Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande with Franz Welser-Möst and Yuval Sharon, Schubert’s Winterreise in Paris, Off-Broadway and LA Opera for Figaro (90210). With dance, David collaborated with the American Contemporary Ballet for Le Fate In Italia, Mojacar Flamenco for Romance Sonambulo, Luminario Ballet for Winterreise, and an LA Dance Project residency as co-producer & narrator of Jay Carlon’s FLEX. With composer/Project Runway winner Kentaro Kameyama and writer William Nedved, David served as producer and as Lee “Alexander” McQueen in The Passion of McQueen and as Perseus in Medusa at the Getty Villa with Deaf West Theatre. David directed “for anna", a fashion show+art exhibition featuring the works of Kentaro and Shoko Nakashita. As a producer, David created and produced multi-sensory productions of Seven Deadly Sins and innervisions:revisited. 
 
On screen, you will find David acting in several commercials, revisiting his trumpet for a Camila Cabello music video, and singing on America’s Got Talent. He serves on the voice faculty of Moorpark College. David graduated with honors both from the USC Thornton School of Music under Rod Gilfry and from Loyola University New Orleans under the late Philip Frohnmayer.
