Adam Faruqi

Palestinian-American tenor Adam Faruqi (he/they) is known for his “bright, youthful sound”
(Singerpreneur) and “beautiful…[and] comforting” (Violinist.com) lyric voice. He sings in a variety
of styles, from renaissance, baroque, and classical to pop, rock, and folk. He has performed on
the soundtracks of over 20 Hollywood films, TV shows, and video games, including such titles
as Star Wars, Ms. Marvel, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and many more. His voice can also be
heard on the Grammy-award-winning recording of Mahler’s 8th Symphony with the Los Angeles
Philharmonic, Mitski's The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, and Father John Misty's
Mahashmashana, among other albums. Adam is a long-time member of the LA Master Chorale
and the LA Opera Chorus, and is a founding member of early music collective Peasant Fylthe.
Since 2022 Adam has had the privilege of touring internationally as a featured soloist with LA
Master Chorale’s universally-acclaimed production Music to Accompany a Departure–a fully
staged adaptation of Heinrich Schutz's seminal masterpiece Musikalische Exequien,
choreographed and directed by Peter Sellars. His duet with Dermot Kiernan was described by
Nicholas Jones of San Francisco Classical Voice as "one of the most telling moments" of the
production.
He has performed across the Southland and beyond with organizations such as LA Camerata,
Baroque Collegium LA, Musica Transalpina, Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, Street Symphony,
The Industry Opera, Tonality, PRISM, Chorosynthesis, Vox Ardens, Dream Orchestra, Pasadena
Opera, Pasadena Pro Musica, Concerto NoHo, Camerata Rus, and Angel City Opera, among
others. In his free time, Adam composes, arranges, and records music in his home studio. Adam
speaks 7 languages and holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from USC. He is
passionate about environmentalism, car-free urbanism, and Palestinian liberation.
