Bio:
Soprano Addy Sterrett enjoys exploring a wide variety of music spanning across time and genres. Early musical experiences in small town Northern Michigan have led to fulfilling engagements singing with professional choirs, cantoring in churches, and solo performances throughout the United States, Western Europe, and India. Of particular interest are the sacred, ethereal, and mystical works of the baroque and 21st century. Recent premieres and performances include major works by composers Reena Esmail and William David Cooper, and the art song and chamber music of David Lang, John Harbison, and many young creative voices. Inspired and impassioned by collaboration, Addy finds deep enjoyment performing music with her peers both in concert halls as well as in living rooms, parks, and bars. Addy is a graduate of the Yale Institute of Sacred Music where she earned an M.M. in Voice focused on the studies of Early Music, Oratorio, and Chamber Ensemble. When not on stage, Addy can be found singing with her mountain dulcimer and guitar, on mountain tops, in tents, and while baking sourdough bread.
