The Los Angeles Master Chorale is pleased to announce that
William Cabison of UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) is the winner of its inaugural Young Composers Contest. LAMC judges chose William’s composition entitled
Moonrise after reviewing submissions from university/college composition students from across the country.
For William Cabison’s outstanding work, members of the LA Master Chorale will perform Moonrise at its 27th Annual High School Choir Festival on April 22, 2016 at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles in a FREE concert at 11:00am. At LAMC’s High School Choir Festival, 900 students come together to perform as a massive choir under the baton of Artistic Director Grant Gershon.
