“Go West” with the world premiere of dreams of the new world by adventurous composer and sound artist Ellen Reid with a libretto by Sarah LaBrie. Joined on stage by L.A.’s acclaimed wild Up ensemble, Reid’s new work was inspired by westward expansions and the forging of new frontiers, drawing inspiration from Memphis, Houston, Los Angeles, and beyond. The evening opens with a performance of Terry Riley’s iconic 1964 minimalist masterpiece In C, the musical equivalent of a choose-your-own-adventure novel, by wild Up and members of the Master Chorale.
