Lorenzo Zapata

Lorenzo Zapata is an Argentine-American singer and actor who specializes in multi-genre performance from pop and jazz to classical and contemporary opera. This season marks his first as a core roster member with the Los Angeles Master Chorale, and has previously performed with the LAMC under Maestros Grant Gershon, Gustavo Dudamel, and Zubin Mehta. Lorenzo is also a member of the chorale ensemble Tonality with whom last year he participated on and won the Grammy Award for Best New Age Chorale Album. As an operatic baritone, Lorenzo most recently had his international debut premiering the opera All the Truths We Cannot See at the Musiikkitalo in Helsinki, Finland. He most recently toured with the Kronos Quartet performing Michael Abel’s At War with Ourselves and with acapella sensation Pentatonix at the Hollywood Bowl. Lorenzo also composes his own music as a singer-songwriter in a modern take on traditional Argentine Chacarera folk music. In his down time, Lorenzo loves to read, do yoga, and take long walks to his local coffee shop.
