Bio:

Latin-American Tenor, David Morales, is an active vocalist performing music across a variety of genres and styles. Past solo engagements include performances with the Kronos Quartet and Michael Abels At War with Ourselves - 400 Years of You, the 2022 Bach Akademie Charlotte Vocal Fellow singing select solos in Bach’s Easter Oratorio and the St. John Passion, and Whittier’s 81st Bach Festival soloist for Bach Cantatas 182 and 61. As a choral and ensemble performer throughout Los Angeles, he regularly performs with groups such as the Grammy Award-Winning Tonality, the USC Baroque Sinfonia, and Terpsichor. He is elated to be joining the roster of the Los Angeles Master Chorale fulfilling a life-long dream of his. He recently sang with the LA Opera Chorus in El Último Sueño de Frida Y Diego and will be joining them for the 24-25 season closer, Rigoletto. Some other of his stand-out performances include being the 2023 Tenor fellow for The Thirteen’s Flowering of Days concerts, Björk’s 2022 Cornucopia California tour with Tonality, and Early Music America’s 2020 Emerging Artist Showcase at the Berkeley Early Music Festival with L.A. Camerata Baroque. Past engagements include programs with Long Beach Camerata, Bach Collegium San Diego, and Conspirare. He is also a session singer recording for movie soundtracks, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Spiderhead, and Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F as well as on the T.V. series The Other Black Girl. He holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance and Music Education from Bob Cole Conservatory of Music and a Master of Arts in Early Music Performance from the Thornton School of Music. David Morales is a passionate educator and is currently on voice faculties at Loyola Marymount University, Citrus College, and Mt. SAC.
