Juhye Kim

Soprano Juhye Kim, a native of South Korea, studied vocal arts at Seoul National University (SNU), where she graduated with honors and received her master’s degree at SNU. She is a recipient of Seoul National University Alumni Development Fund Scholarship as well as the Music Merit Scholarship for Excellent Academic record. Kim earned her graduate certificate at the University of Southern California (USC) Thornton School of Music under tutorage of Elizabeth Hynes. She is distinguished in numerous vocal competitions, including a winner of the Burbank Philharmonic Competition and the California Womens' Chorus Award , Sejong Competition, Ehwa-KyungHyang Competition and a finalist of Neue Stimmen, Belvedere International Competition, IVC Lied Competition. Kim has performed many roles of Opera such as Violetta in La traviata, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with Seoul City Opera, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi with USC Opera, Adina in L’elisir D’amore with Korea National Opera, Pamina in The Magic Flute with Seoul Arts Center Opera and Norina in Don Pasquale with SNU Opera. Also she sang Canteloube’s songs with USC Chamber Orchestra under Carl St.Clair and KBS(Korean Broadcasting System)Symphony. Ms. Kim is a recipient of Asian Cultural Council.
