Rajib Karmakar
SitarRajib Karmakar is one of the leading Sitar exponents in the world today. Rajib’s talent extends beyond music, as he is also an accomplished composer and producer. He has a unique ability to blend traditional elements with contemporary sounds, creating captivating compositions that transcend cultural boundaries. He has played on and has been featured in various movies and TV shows for Disney, Warner Bros., Sony, Universal, A&E Network, and many more. He has collaborated and performed with top musicians Herb Alpert, Beck, Chris Martin, Sandeep Das, Kayhan Kalhor, Wu Tong and many others throughout the globe. He has performed aticonic venues including Shrine Auditorium, Lincoln Center, Walt Disney Concert Hall, National Arts Center, and the Straz Center; and has given lectures at various schools, colleges, and universities including Harvard University, Butler University, Dartmouth University, UCLA, CalArts, UC Berkley, Brandeis University, and many others. In addition to his musical endeavors, Rajib is a dedicated educator. He believes in sharing his knowledge and experiences with aspiring musicians, mentoring them to unlock their full potential. Through workshops, lectures, and masterclasses he has touched the lives of many aspiring artists, nurturing their talents and guiding them on their own creative journeys. He is currently the Artistic director of Los Angeles International Music and Arts Academy and President of LAIMA FOUNDATION, INC.
