Suzanna Guzmán, mezzo soprano & tv host, is an original Associate Artist of L.A. Opera performing roles in over 400 performances. She’s appeared as soloist around the world including the Metropolitan Opera, Washington National, Houston Grand, Opera de Genève, to name a few. Known for the title role in Bizet’s Carmen, she’s a 2019-20 company member of The Industry, has received a Grammy nod for her collaboration with Southwest Chamber and Emmy nod for hosting the 59th L.A. Co.Holiday Celebration. A champion of arts education.her awards include: honorary Doctor of Music/Occidental College, Lifetime Achievement Award/Nederlander Association, Mentor of the Year Award/Hispanic Scholarship Foundation and the 2017 Presidents Award/Neighborhood Music School. Upcoming engagements: SoCal premiere Bless me, Ultima opera in the title role, Doña Rosa in Daniél Catán’s Il Postino with Santa Barbara Opera and the Mother Abbess in Sound of Music. 2019 is year 17 in the title role of Dios Inantzin, La Virgen de Tepeyac with Latino Theatre and Dec. 24th she hosts the 60th Annual L.A. Co. Holiday Celebration on PBS.
