Do you also have a non-singing "day job"? If so, what do you do? I also work as an orchestrator and in music prep for film and TV. Recent projects include MIDI prep for the Tyler Perry film, Nobody's Fool, song arrangement for an episode of the Netflix series, The Punisher
Where else do you teach/gig/conduct/sing/perform? St. James' Church, L.A. Schola
Recording/TV/Film: Recent film sessions include: Underwater, A Wrinkle in Time, Wonderpark, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Despicable Me 3, and Transformers: The Last Knight, among others.
Highlights of your musical career: Being among the LAMC singers who sang for John Williams on Star Wars: The Last Jedi pretty much made my life. Recording live with the orchestra, without cans, and the man himself conducting, was absolutely incredible. Every time I sing at the Hollywood Bowl, on a historic L.A. sound stage, or at Disney Hall, it's a dream and a privilege.
Favorite choral work(s): Anything by John Adams has my heart.
A defining moment of favorite LA Master Chorale onstage experience: The Big Sing in 2018 was a watermark moment for sure. All of those humans, coming together with one voice, was pretty spectacular and something I'll never forget. The High School Choir Festival in 2016 was also very special for me. I wrote my first choral piece for it (dedicated to my Mom, with poetry by my sister) and performed with my awesome LAMC colleagues. That was an unforgettable experience.
