Where else do you teach/gig/conduct/sing/perform? I am a guest soloist with orchestras and choruses throughout the United States and occasionally abroad. This season I will be the alto soloist with The Pasadena Symphony in the Mozart Requiem. Last year was the year of Beethoven's 9th, 9 performances in 2017! As a soloist: many in Los Angeles, March was in Germany with a multi-national production and December in Mexico.
Guest Appearances: Mozart Requiem, Beethoven 9, Verdi Requiem, oratorios: Pasadena Symphony, Santa Monica Symphony, Orquesta Filarmónica de Boca del Río, Los Angeles Daiku, Lüneburg Symphony, Boca del Rio Orchestra, Japanese American Cultural Center Concert
Recording/TV/Film: James Newton Mass; Beethoven's 9th - Live from the Hollywood Bowl; The Gospel According to the Other Mary by John Adams; Vignettes: Ellis Island (a solo album); Górecki Miserere; A Good Understanding, Nico Muhly; You Are (Variations), Steve Reich; Itaipu, Philip Glass; Glass & Salonen; Soundtracks include Star Wars, Godzilla 2014; Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014; Cowboys & Aliens; For Colored Girls; Lady in the Water; Click; miscellaneous video games
Highlights of your musical career: The recent concert in Germany with 280 in the chorus from all over the world - that was exciting! And, singing the National Anthem at Dodger Stadium… nothing like 40,000 people cheering you.
Favorite choral work(s): Bach B-Minor Mass
A defining moment of favorite LA Master Chorale onstage experience: Anytime we sang with the Luckman Jazz Orchestra. That is so much fun!
What are you listening to these days? If I'm not studying a specific piece it will probably be Brazilian Radio on Pandora.

What L.A. experience do you consider essential for visitors/newcomers? Anything the LAMC is singing, of course! Also, La Brea Tar Pits, everyone should go!! We premiered David O's piece A Map of Los Angeles and I loved the prehistoric creatures featured in it!! That would have been a 2-fer; LAMC and a reference to the Tar Pits.
