Best Known For: phenomenal success of his Symphony No. 3 which astounded many of his contemporaries, especially in Poland, where the work had been known for more than a decade

Symphony No. 3 (Symphony of Sorrowful Songs), recorded in 1992 by Dawn Upshaw and London Sinfonietta, conducted by David Zinman
Assignments: Professor of composition and Rector at the State Higher School of Music, 1975-79
