Regular cantor duties and choral singing at Padre Serra Parish in Camarillo, CA
Los Angeles Master Chorale 50th Season celebration Concert (LA Master Chorale, 2013); City of Gardens (Oct. 2012 theatrical release); Górecki: Miserere (LA Master Chorale, 2012); Live From Walt Disney Concert Hall (LA Master Chorale, 2010); Praying the Rosary with St. Alphonsus Maria Ligouri (Redemptorists/Denver Province, 2008); Feline Casanova (Stanford Mendicants, 1992); Just Like That (Stanford Mendicants, 1991).
Highlights of your musical career:
performing the amazing Mahler 8th with 1,000 singers and instrumentalists at the Shrine Auditorium in 2012 (and doing the same piece a few years before in Esa-Pekka Salonen's final performance at the Hollywood Bowl); singing the unspeakably beautiful All-Night Vigil by Rachmaninoff not once, but twice with LAMC; performing in the debut of the Berlioz Requiem in Disney Hall; performing the Los Angeles premiere of the Rouse Requiem
Favorite choral work(s):
Rachmaninoff's All-Night Vigil (so far)
A defining moment of favorite LA Master Chorale onstage experience:
Singing in the men's chorus for Tristan und Isolde in the dark rafters of Disney Hall, to a conductor on a television screen, a half-second delayed from the sound of the music, while two people strip naked on a massive video screen to a full audience
What are you listening to these days?
Lately, an uncomfortable but bizarrely intriguing combination of Dar Williams and Art Garfunkel, with a bit of Weird Al Yankovic thrown in for good measure
