Reid Bruton’s low bass voice can be heard on more than 250 major motion picture soundtracks, including all of the recent Star Wars movies, Us, Warcraft, Frozen, Jungle Book, Jumanji, Nope, Lion King (2019), Mulan, Matrix Reloaded, Watchmen, X-Men and Avatar. While recording the soundtrack for War of the Worlds, John Williams said of Bruton: “I’ve never heard notes sung that low!” His television credits include several episodes of Family Guy, The Simpsons, The Tonight Show, as well as The Academy Awards telecast. He has sung back-up for Barbra Streisand, Adele, Lady Gaga, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Buble, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and 50 Cent. Reid has appeared as a soloist with the LA Phil both at Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl in several productions including Stravinsky’s Renard, Philip Glass’ Koyaanisqatsi and Puccini’s Tosca conducted by Dudamel. Reid is also a member of LA Opera where he has performed in more than 100 productions as a chorister. He has also sung roles in LA Opera's productions of Salome, Billy Budd, Der Rosenkavalier, La Traviata, Rigoletto, Gianni Schicchi, Thaïs, Die Zauberflöte, Macbeth, Carmen, and La Bohème. But he may best be known as the voice of The Grinch for The Boston Pops’ Christmas CD. Reid enjoys a successful, private teaching studio helping other singers reach their individual potential.
