Where else do you teach/gig/conduct/sing/perform?
I teach voice at Riverside City College and direct the Women's Ensemble as well as teach voice at Mt. San Antonio College.
Most recently, I sang the Brahms' Liebeslieder Waltzer op. 52 for the Pittance Chamber Music Recital Series, Strauss' Brentano Lieder and Mahler's Symphony No. 4 with UC Irvine Orchestra. I also appear regularly with the Los Angeles Opera chorus.
Der Zwerg (ArtHaus Musik), La Traviata (Decca), Up the Creek: When Nature Calls, Dancing with the Stars - Classical Night (seasons 12 & 14).
Highlights of your musical career:
Singing with Mo. Dudamel for the first time. It is almost as though he exudes joy from his pores as he conducts. It is truly inspiring!
Favorite choral work(s):
Bach's B minor Mass & Stravinsky's Oedipus Rex.
A defining moment of favorite LA Master Chorale onstage experience:
Honestly, nearly every concert brings a moment when I transcend myself as an individual and become something MORE along with all my other colleagues. I feel so lucky to be making music with such an amazing group of people!
What are you listening to these days?
Recently, I have been listening to Castor et Pollux by Jean-Philippe Rameau and Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto no. 2.
Where do you live in L.A.?
What L.A. experience do you consider essential for visitors/newcomers?
Lay out on the beach in the morning, go on a hike in the beautiful mountains in the afternoon and hear a concert at the Hollywood Bowl or Disney Hall in the evening.
