Highlights of your musical career: Singing on the stage of Disney Hall as the tenor soloist for Les Noces for sure. Premiering the role of Taylor in a live televised world opera called Fallujah based on a marine’s journey to healing from ptsd. The first time I sang a solo line on the stage at the Dorothy Chandler in front of James Conlon and Plácido Domingo. Pitching a new opera with some of my favorite colleagues to Plácido Domingo and LA Opera - what a complete rush!!
Favorite choral work(s): Verdi Requiem; Bach B minor Mass; Poulenc Figure Humaine - too many others - a LOT of our man, Shawn Kirchner’s music too!
A defining moment of favorite LA Master Chorale onstage experience: There are too many. Selfishly, I loved singing solos in Les Noces, however - that’s not what this gig’s about. The best moments happen every day and reinvent themselves in this group. Singing together and making magic with colleagues you can learn from - every moment is defining.
What are you listening to these days? Lots of Stuff on my new vinyl turntable. Doors, Pink Floyd, Sinatra. I tend to be a creature of habit.
